General Information About The Tour
A guided walk that gives you the flavours of Edinburgh, from the city centre to Arthur’s Seat, from the medieval Old Town to the Georgian New Town. See it, hear it, with a quirky history of Edinburgh in an hour and a quarter. This Tour, starting at the Calton Hill, informs and enlightens as well as orientating the mind to the heritage of Scotland.
You will hear about and see our cityscapes, landscapes, seascapes and medieval, Georgian, Victorian and modern structures. Some of our famous people will be brought to life in their environment, such as King Robert the Bruce, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (author of Sherlock Holmes), Robert Adam, Adam Smith, Mary Queen of Scots and let’s not forget Dolly the Sheep. Plus, of course, our many visitors, some distinguished and welcome, who include the Romans, the Angles, the Vikings, the Normans and the French as well as Benjamin Franklin, Charles Darwin, JK Rowling, Robert Burns and many more.
This is truly part of world history in a World Heritage Site told with style, insight and humour.
